Unconscious aspects of our personalities affect our lives, often pulling us into repetition of fixed patterns through which we often end up in similar life situations, attract certain people and sustain barriers that impede change. When discovering our unconscious feelings, which we then integrate into our consciousness, to a greater extent we are able to decide on our fate rather than let fate decide for us.
Psychodynamic therapy is a process that will enable you to gain insight into your difficulties and process your emotions in a safe, non-judgmental environment and develop more adaptive ways of responding to your own needs and those of others.
We will look at your difficulties in the context of your current and past relational experiences, to understand how they may have influenced your ability to make positive steps in your live, therefore contributing to anxiety, low self esteem, depression or any other emotion that you may struggle with.
The insight alongside a safe space to process your emotions, will help you to become more attuned to your needs and feelings and will give you a greater freedom and maturity when responding to difficult situations in everyday life.
My main training is in psychodynamic counselling, however I draw on a range of therapeutic modalities, including acceptance and commitment therapy, and evidence-based strategies to enhance self-regulation skills such as: mindfulness, self-compassion, and breathwork.
