Welcome to my website. My name is Anna Simpson, I am a psychodynamic counsellor registered with the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (membership number 849771) and a Health and Care Professions Council registered Counselling Psychologist (registration number PYL34411). I provide confidential short term counselling and long term psychodynamic therapy in Canary Wharf. I hold Professional Liability and Indemnity Insurance.
To ensure the highest standards across the profession, all practising psychotherapists registered with the BACP (including myself) are required to meet regularly with a ‘supervisor’ to ensure consistency of practice and clinical safety. I participate in clinical supervision and ongoing CPD training in psychotherapy as a requirement of my membership.
Having over 8 years of experience in mental health I have worked with individuals from a range of backgrounds and cultures.
My charity experience includes volunteering for Mind where I supported individuals with mental health diagnosis and Polish Psychologists' Association where I provided psychological consultations for polish families and individuals living in the UK. I have gained considerable experience in psychodynamic counselling at Highgate Counselling Centre where I provided weekly open-ended therapy and time limited counselling for individuals facing difficulties such as anxiety, depression, low self esteem, loneliness, work related stress, relationship difficulties and bereavement.
My NHS experience includes IAPT psychological assessments for adults experiencing anxiety and depression as well as assessment and interventions for children and adolescents within a CAMHS service.
In addition I have a few years of experience providing emotional and practical support to individuals diagnosed with autism within Choice Support.
